Data Folders for Kindergarten Freebie :)

I had a recent request to share these Data Folder printables that I made last year to go along with the kindergarten expectations in my district.  They turned out to be a really useful set of data that mirrored our report card.  I haven't gotten around to making anything quite as comprehensive for first grade, but I'd sure like to get some time to do that.

Click on the pic to download.  There are only 5 Six Weeks included here & they are all in a single download.  The clip art is by the ever-adorable DJ Inkers.  :)

Interactive 3D Shapes :)

This week we are working on 3 Dimensional Shapes & I'm excited because we are merging it with our Farm unit.  It should be fun trying to figure out how to build a cow out of geometric solids.  I think we'll spend some time practicing how to draw them so that it can be all fun & no frustration.

Below are some links to interactive technology applications that I think will help bring the concept to life. :)

(Check out the Munckins tab for interactive games that the kiddos will use independently this week!)

You can't go wrong at Illuminations.  There is always something there that will get the kiddos excited and involved in learning.  This particular tool allows you to explore several 3dimensional shapes while changing the transparencies and colors.  Using real models of shapes, along with this as a visual guide will help sink in what the visuals are explaining.

Below is a great interactive lesson on 2D and 3D Shapes.  You can start with a review of the 2D Shapes, and then define, explore, and even print the nets (3D model) of each shape!

The site below will be challenging!  Munchkins have to match the net to the shape.   I made a couple of mistakes on this one, so I  know it will make the kiddos think outside the box.  Again, providing hands-on models will certainly help.

The site below has all kinds of printable nets that you can cut & fold into geo solids.  Fun!

And then of course, there's Harry Kindergarten!  The kids will enjoy this flashback to their Kinder year. :)

Free! :)

Ok, so I was a little bit overly excited to create some Valentine clip art this past weekend and I immediately put it up on TpT without a second thought!  But, ya know what?  It's just a tiny little set of hand-drawn pics that I had fun making and used on a few pieces for the Munchkins.  So, I deleted it from TpT.

I've uploaded it to Google Drive and you can have it for free, if you like.  I'll keep it up there for a little bit & you are welcome to snag it by clicking the little birdie below.  Terms of Use are included in the file so please look it over.  Thanks for not being too hard on me for my first tiny little pack of clip art!  It's just something fun I wanted to try.  If you like it, please let me know... I may (or may not) try my hand at something more.

 With happiness,
♥ Jen

Independent Munchkins? Make them a tab! :)

Hello, it's me again.  Are you tired of me yet?  I kind of am.  Well, a little.  :)

I wanted to share an idea I had last week (or maybe the week before) that has really made my life so much easier when it comes to providing interactive games to the Munchkins.  I really like when the kiddos are on the computer managing themselves with fun, interactive games that are cleverly hiding their educational values. They get so engaged and so excited that they literally light up.

I decided that since I've got this little bloggie thing going, with a tab for Parents, why don't I just go ahead and give the kids a tab of their own?  And of course I named it "Munchkins."

To this tab I add direct links to the games that I have pre-taught (and modeled appropriate use of) that are of significant value to our weekly activities.  That way, I can create my "home" on whatever Internet browser I use to that particular space on the Web.  It has worked like a charm!

So... have at it & create a tab for your kiddos!  You'll still be controlling/monitoring what they do online but you'll be giving them much needed real world experience at navigating the internet, using the computer independently, all while giving them choices!  And, if you've got a SMARTboard or other interactive white board, just be prepared for the angels of happiness to sing!

Click here to check out the Munchkin Tab in action! :)

With happiness,
Jen ♥

Valentine Hearts & Love Clip Art Collection (and a freebie)

Oh my, I'm excited!  And yes, I'm a goofball.  It's ok.  I already know.  :)   I just finished (and posted) my first clip art collection!  It's not very big, but I'm so excited to share it!  All of the images are free to use for both personal and commercial use.  A link back to me at www.kindiekins.com would be really nice, though.  I ask that you do not share or alter the clip art.

Let me know what you think!

And, while you're at it.... download this freebie that I created using some of the clip art included and my very own font!  (Click on the image to grab it!)

Thanks & Enjoy!

With happiness from Jen ♥

Differentiated Writing Paper & a Storyboard

I have been a busy little bee today!  Of course, I haven't graded out math assessment, entered grades into the computer, or looked over any lesson plans but I have been busy!  LOL :)  Priorities, right?

Anywho, I re-worked my differentiated writing paper by adding my own fonts and kind of cleaning them up a bit.  Then, I created a Storyboard for the Munchkins to brainstorm, think through, and develop their own stories!  I'm excited to share it with them.   In total, the pack is 4 pages.  One Storyboard, and 3 different pages of leveled writing pages with expectations listed on each page.

I also created a little bit of clipart, and made a writing page for creating a letter to a loved one on Valentine's Day.  I think my firsties are ready to really dig deep into correctly writing a letter to someone they care about.  It will be fun to walk them through it and see where it takes them.

Click on the images to grab your copies!

The Storyboard & Writing Pack is $3.00 at TpT  :)

Valentine Numeration is a free download at TpT :)

♥ Have a great week!
